CVE-2026-73625 is a remote code execution vulnerability in GitPython affecting versions before 3.1.54. The flaw is in the check_unsafe_options validation guard, which can be bypassed by smuggling Git options inside single-character keyword-argument values. When attacker-controlled option dictionaries are passed to affected methods such as clone_from, fetch, pull, push, ls_remote, iter_commits, blame, or archive, the unsafe option filtering can be evaded and attacker-supplied arguments can reach the underlying Git invocation. This enables arbitrary OS command execution through the --upload-pack parameter.
