CVE-2026-76286 is a server-side request forgery vulnerability affecting custom API tools in Splunk MCP Server versions before 1.2.1. A user with the mcp_tool_admin capability can configure a custom API tool with an attacker-controlled destination. When another user with the mcp_tool_execute capability runs that tool, the server may send the executing user's Splunk platform authentication token to the configured destination. The destination's operator can capture the token and use it to access data and perform actions as the executing user.
