CVE-2026-76880 is a heap-corruption vulnerability in the Wireshark UMTS RRC protocol dissector. A protocol-valid, packet-controlled RB-Identity value is retained in RRC private state and subsequently used as an index into the ciphering sequence-number array. The array's first dimension is smaller than the permitted ASN.1 RB-Identity range, resulting in an out-of-bounds write that can corrupt adjacent members of heap-allocated ciphering state during dissection. Wireshark versions 4.6.0 through 4.6.7 and 4.4.0 through 4.4.18 are affected.
