CVE-2026-76889 is an out-of-bounds write in Wireshark's UMTS FP protocol dissector. While parsing MAC-is SDU descriptors, the dissector function dissect_e_dch_t2_or_common_channel_info() increments a packet-controlled descriptor count without enforcing the bounds of two fixed 16-element arrays. An attacker can keep the descriptor continuation flag clear, causing parsing to proceed beyond entry 15 and writes to occur using index 16 or higher. The issue affects Wireshark 4.6.0 through 4.6.7 and 4.4.0 through 4.4.18.
