DirtyAH6 is a Linux kernel XFRM/AHv6 vulnerability in routing-header processing. Before calculating or verifying an AH integrity check value, AH6 rearranges IPv6 Routing Header addresses through ipv6_rearrange_rthdr(). The function assumed that segments_left did not exceed the number of addresses encoded by the header-length field. That invariant is not enforced for raw IPv6 HDRINCL packets. A crafted routing header can declare one address while supplying a much larger segments_left value, causing address-pointer arithmetic to move before the routing-header address area and an oversized memmove() operation to access memory out of bounds. The upstream correction validates segments_left before modifying the header or calculating address pointers, and returns malformed-header errors through the existing AH6 input and output error paths.
