Special characters, including dot and NUL characters, can be embedded in a namespace identifier. Applications that construct namespace identifiers from untrusted input without validating it can have a database operation redirected to a target other than the intended namespace, enabling cross-tenant access in affected multi-tenant deployments. MongoDB C++ Driver versions 3.0.0 through 4.5.0 are affected.
