CVE-2026-86060 is an argument-injection vulnerability in the MikroTik RouterOS SSH login path. The login helper improperly handles a username beginning with a prohibited character, allowing attacker-controlled input to alter the trusted RouterOS policy mask associated with the SSH authentication session. The altered policy mask can cause the session to receive elevated, including full administrative, privileges.

A MikroTik RouterOS SSH-login privilege-escalation flaw caused by improper argument handling. A crafted username beginning with a prohibited character enables command-line argument injection that changes the RouterOS policy mask and elevates an unauthorized session to full administrative privileges. It is chained with CVE-2026-67276 in MikroTrick attacks.
One of several vulnerabilities in MikroTik RouterOS. The vulnerabilities are reported as actively exploited; a combination of two enables complete device compromise over SSH.
