CVE-2026-8632 is a high-severity vulnerability in HP Linux Imaging and Printing Software (HPLIP) affecting versions earlier than 3.26.4. The flaw is caused by improper neutralization of special characters in user-supplied data, resulting in an operating system command injection condition in the print request handling path. A local attacker with low privileges can trigger the issue by submitting a specially crafted print request, which may lead to privilege escalation and arbitrary command execution on the underlying host operating system.
