CVE-2026-86411 is a low-severity authentication-context reuse vulnerability in curl and libcurl versions before 8.23.0. An FTP transfer configured with CURLUSESSL_NONE can reuse a pooled FTP control connection that a previous easy handle upgraded using STARTTLS and authenticated with a client certificate. The subsequent handle performs neither a new TLS handshake nor a new FTP login, causing the server to continue authorizing its operations under the previous handle's certificate identity.
