CVE-2026-89136 is an authentication-bypass vulnerability in wolfSSL clients using Raw Public Key (RPK) support for TLS 1.2, TLS 1.3, or DTLS 1.2. Affected clients may accept an unsolicited server_cert_type=RawPublicKey value from a server rather than enforcing normal X.509 certificate-chain validation. The issue affects wolfSSL versions 5.6.0 through 5.9.2 in builds with RPK enabled.

High-severity Raw Public Key authentication bypass in wolfSSL clients. A malicious server can bypass normal X.509 chain validation where Raw Public Key support is enabled.
High-severity wolfSSL Raw Public Key authentication bypass affecting clients built with Raw Public Key support, which is disabled by default.
An authentication-bypass vulnerability affecting RPK-enabled TLS 1.2, TLS 1.3, and DTLS 1.2 clients. A malicious or misbehaving server can send an unsolicited RawPublicKey server certificate type that the client accepts, bypassing server authentication. RPK is disabled by default and is enabled only in builds configured with --enable-rpk, --enable-all, or --enable-distro (HAVE_RPK).
