CVE-2026-89775 is a Linux KVM vulnerability affecting arm64 nested virtualization. When the Stage-1 MMU is disabled, KVM represents the Stage-1 walk level with a negative sentinel value. The VNCR pseudo-TLB invalidation logic passes this negative level to pgshift_level_to_ttl(), where it is converted to an unsigned value and only low-order bits are considered. This produces an invalid or zero invalidation size. The resulting empty invalidation range skips the required TLB invalidation, allowing stale mappings to retain access to freed host memory.

An ARM64 Linux KVM nested-virtualization guest-to-host escape caused by a zero size calculation that skips TLB invalidation, leaving freed host memory mapped and writable by a guest. The reported attack path requires ARM64 nested virtualization to be enabled and Armv8.4 hardware supporting FEAT_NV2.
A resolved Linux kernel KVM/arm64 flaw in VNCR TLB invalidation-size evaluation. Negative Stage-1 walk levels, including the MMU-disabled sentinel value, were mishandled, potentially resulting in zero-sized TLB invalidations instead of a safe invalidation range.
A guest-to-host escape and local privilege-escalation vulnerability in Linux KVM/arm64 when nested virtualization is enabled. A truncated stage-1 walk level can cause VNCR pseudo-TLB invalidation to be skipped, leaving a freed host page writable and mapped at a fixed host-kernel address, enabling an attacking guest to read and write it without a trap or VM exit.
