CVE-2026-93302 is an authentication-bypass vulnerability in wolfSSL's MatchTrustedPeer certificate-matching logic. The function ignores the public key when evaluating trusted peer certificates, allowing a forged clone of a trusted certificate authority certificate to pass verification. The issue affects builds that enable WOLFSSL_TRUST_PEER_CERT and load CA certificates through wolfSSL_CTX_trust_peer_cert() or wolfSSL_trust_peer_cert(). When OPENSSL_COMPATIBLE_DEFAULTS is defined, the affected surface expands to all CA certificate loading. The flaw affects both ordinary and mutual (D)TLS authentication deployments.

High-severity trusted-peer certificate validation bypass in wolfSSL configurations using WOLFSSL_TRUST_PEER_CERT, potentially allowing a forged CA clone to be trusted.
High-severity wolfSSL trusted-peer certificate validation bypass that can allow a forged CA clone to be accepted in configurations using WOLFSSL_TRUST_PEER_CERT.
A wolfSSL certificate-authentication bypass in MatchTrustedPeer. By ignoring the public key, the vulnerable trust-peer validation can accept forged clones of a trusted CA certificate, allowing a malicious (D)TLS peer to bypass authentication when it knows the CA certificates accepted by the target. OPENSSL_COMPATIBLE_DEFAULTS broadens the affected CA-loading scope.
A high-severity wolfSSL authentication-bypass vulnerability in trusted-peer certificate matching. Because the public key is not checked, a forged clone of a trusted CA certificate can pass verification, enabling a malicious (D)TLS peer to bypass authentication when it knows which CA certificates the target has loaded.
