CVE-2026-94418 is a certificate-signature validation bypass in wolfSSL versions 3.15.5 through 5.9.2 when built with the non-default WOLFSSL_SMALL_CERT_VERIFY option. In this configuration, ProcessPeerCertParse() performs signature verification separately from certificate parsing but merges the results only if parsing succeeds. A parse error, including an overridden validity-date error, can therefore mask the ASN_SIG_CONFIRM_E signature-verification failure. An application that uses WOLFSSL_VERIFY_PEER and a verification callback that accepts expired or not-yet-valid certificates can accept an attacker-created certificate with an expected subject name, a trusted CA subject as issuer, an invalid signature, and an attacker-controlled key pair.

Low-severity wolfSSL certificate signature validation bypass.
Low-severity wolfSSL certificate signature bypass vulnerability.
A wolfSSL certificate-verification authentication-bypass vulnerability affecting builds that explicitly enable WOLFSSL_SMALL_CERT_VERIFY and applications that use a peer-verification callback to override expired or not-yet-valid certificate errors. The split signature-validation path can suppress ASN_SIG_CONFIRM_E, allowing an attacker to use a self-created certificate with a trusted CA subject as issuer, arbitrary signature data, an expected subject name, an expired validity period, and an attacker-controlled key. TLS 1.2, TLS 1.3, and DTLS are affected in client and server directions. For accepted forged chain certificates, the certificate may be cached, requiring a context or process restart after exposure.
