CVE-2026-9705 is an authorization flaw in Keycloak's client registration service. A remote attacker who possesses a previously issued Registration Access Token (RAT) can use that token to re-enable a client that an administrator had explicitly disabled. By bypassing the intended administrative control on disabled clients, the attacker can then reset the client's secret and take over management of that client. The issue affects the security boundary around client lifecycle and registration management, allowing stale or previously granted registration credentials to remain effective against a client state that should have blocked further modification.
