Ondatry is a financially motivated e-commerce payment-skimming group targeting Adobe Commerce and Magento merchants. The group previously hijacked more than 4,000 stores through the TrojanOrder vulnerability in 2022 and later adopted exploitation of CosmicSting (CVE-2024-34102), concentrating on larger merchants. Ondatry uses custom JavaScript loader malware to inject fraudulent payment forms designed to closely imitate legitimate merchant checkout forms, enabling theft of customer payment data. Its activity included injection of counterfeit MultiSafePay payment forms against Dutch online stores.
