FLORAHOX Activity is an intrusion activity cluster associated with the use of an operational relay box (ORB) network built from compromised routers and controlled through leased virtual private server infrastructure. The activity is characterized by the use of acquired VPS systems as control nodes, customized Tor relay layers to route traffic, and shell-based automation to manage traversal and expansion of the relay network. Operators have used multiple Bash controller scripts to provide command-line inputs for traversal configurations, as well as PHP and shell scripts to identify and infect additional routers, indicating an emphasis on scalable infrastructure management and traffic obfuscation. The tradecraft reflects a focus on anonymized command-and-control and relay operations rather than overt ransomware or destructive activity.
Mallory correlates actor tradecraft and target patterns against your stack, your sector, and your geography. See overlap before they land.
