hensi is a cybercriminal actor associated with the 2025 extortion and data-sale activity following the compromise of Scania’s Financial Services insurance application. The actor was observed offering allegedly stolen data for sale to an exclusive buyer and was also identified as the party that later leaked the stolen material. In this intrusion, access was obtained through compromised legitimate third-party credentials tied to an external IT partner, after which insurance claim documents were downloaded from the affected system. The operation reflects opportunistic financially motivated intrusion and monetization rather than a clearly attributable state-backed campaign. Observed tradecraft includes abuse of valid accounts for initial access, theft and exfiltration of sensitive business records, and post-compromise extortion through direct contact with victim employees combined with public exposure of sample data on criminal forums. Based on the available facts, hensi is best characterized as a financially motivated data-theft and extortion actor.
