Harakat Ashab al-Yamin al-Islamiya (HAYI) is an obscure militant or purported militant entity that emerged publicly in March 2024 and has claimed responsibility for multiple antisemitic arson and explosive attacks against Jewish sites in Western Europe. Reported claimed targets include synagogues, a Jewish school, a Jewish commercial site, and Jewish emergency-service vehicles. Public reporting has linked the group’s messaging ecosystem to Telegram channels associated with the Iran-aligned “axis of resistance,” including channels supportive of Iraqi Shia militias, and Israeli government reporting has described HAYI as an Iran-aligned group linked to a broader network behind antisemitic incidents in Europe. Attribution to the Iranian state or to a specific established militia remains unconfirmed. The group’s claimed operations have centered on low-casualty or no-casualty arson and explosive incidents directed at symbolic Jewish targets in the United Kingdom, Belgium, and the Netherlands. Its propaganda has used anti-Israel justifications and attempted to frame attacks as retaliation connected to the Gaza conflict and support for Israel. HAYI’s visual branding has reportedly adopted iconography resembling Shia militant and “resistance axis” imagery. Confidence in the authenticity of HAYI as a coherent operational organization is limited. Its public presence appears to have begun only shortly before the first claimed attacks, some claim statements have shown signs consistent with AI-generated text, and several responsibility claims have not been independently verified. Even so, the name has been used in connection with a cluster of antisemitic incidents targeting Jewish institutions in Europe. Known aliases include HAYI and Harakat Ashab al-Yamin al-Islamiya (HAYI).
