Rock Group is a financially motivated phishing and bank-fraud criminal group identified in reporting from 2007. It was described as a phishing gang that used infrastructure provided by the Russian Business Network, a St. Petersburg-based bulletproof hosting provider, to conduct large-scale theft from bank accounts. Contemporary reporting attributed approximately $150 million in bank-account theft to the group over the prior year. The group’s activity is associated with phishing operations designed to harvest victims’ personal and financial information through fraudulent banking or commerce lures, followed by unauthorized access to accounts and theft of funds. High-confidence reporting directly ties the group to credential theft and financially motivated cybercrime, but does not provide sufficient corroborated detail on broader tooling, malware families, sub-groups, or a more complete victimology. No widely established aliases beyond Rock Group are supported.
