Electronik Tribulation Army (ETA) was a hacker group led by Jesse McGraw, also known as GhostExodus. The group is associated with unauthorized intrusions conducted for notoriety and operational advantage rather than financially motivated crime. ETA is notably linked to the compromise of a medical facility in Dallas, where McGraw, acting as an insider while employed as a night security guard, accessed more than a dozen systems and also compromised an HVAC/SCADA environment. Reporting indicates the group sought to build botnet capability and was in conflict with elements of Anonymous. ETA’s known activity reflects initial access through unauthorized access and social engineering, post-exploitation within victim networks, and compromise of operational technology connected to a health-care setting. The group is best understood as a small criminal hacking crew centered on McGraw rather than a state-backed actor.
