REALBREEZE is a custom LDAP brute-forcing utility used by the financially motivated BREEZE COMET threat actor. It attempts to guess directory-service credentials and has been deployed during intrusions targeting Brazilian financial-services, payment, retail, and e-commerce organizations. Credential guessing supports the actor’s efforts to obtain access to Active Directory environments and privileged accounts that can facilitate unauthorized access to payment-processing systems.
