U.S. House committee chairs requested a closed-door briefing with Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang following reports that Megaspeed executive Alice Huang may be a Chinese intelligence asset targeting him. Lawmakers sought information about Nvidia’s defenses against foreign espionage and his interactions with Alice Huang, who reportedly was recruited because of her existing relationship with him. Megaspeed, a Singapore-based data center company and major Nvidia customer, also faces allegations of diverting advanced chips to China in violation of U.S. export controls. The reports do not establish that espionage or a compromise of Nvidia occurred.
Nvidia said its regional cloud customers receive ordinary business information, not sensitive trade secrets or national-security information, and emphasized its executive security arrangements and communications with U.S. authorities. The company conducted unannounced inspections at Megaspeed after U.S. concerns about chip smuggling; its internal investigation reportedly found no evidence that Nvidia chips were diverted into China. Singapore confirmed an investigation into Megaspeed but said it was not investigating Alice Huang personally or her alleged connections, while Taiwanese authorities reportedly are examining her China ties and monitoring her visits. The scrutiny highlights potential counterintelligence and export-control exposure through customer relationships, although the allegations remain unproven.
