CVE-1999-0669 affects the Eyedog ActiveX control in Internet Explorer. The control is incorrectly marked as safe for scripting, which allows untrusted web content or script running in the browser context to invoke the control in a way that leads to arbitrary command execution. The issue was demonstrated by the Bubbleboy attack scenario. In practice, this is an unsafe ActiveX exposure problem in which a control that should not be scriptable by untrusted content is made accessible to remote attackers through Internet Explorer.
