CVE-2001-0054 is a directory-traversal vulnerability in FTP Serv-U versions before 2.5i. The FTP server improperly handles an encoded whitespace variant of a dot-dot path component supplied to the FTP CD command. A remote attacker can use a crafted path such as a dot-dot component followed by encoded whitespace to escape the configured FTP root and access files outside the intended directory hierarchy.
