CVE-2001-0550 is a remote code execution vulnerability in WU-FTPD 2.6.1 caused by improper handling of file name globbing in the ftpglob function. The flaw is triggered by supplying a specially crafted argument beginning with "~{" to FTP commands that process pathnames, such as CWD. Because the daemon does not safely validate or handle this globbing input, a remote user can cause execution of arbitrary commands. The issue affects the Washington University FTP daemon and is reachable through normal FTP command processing, including in configurations that permit anonymous access.
