CVE-2002-1042 is a relative path traversal vulnerability in the search-engine component of iPlanet Web Server 6.0 SP2 and 4.1 SP9, and Netscape Enterprise Server 3.6, when deployed on Windows. The component fails to neutralize Windows parent-directory traversal sequences in the externally supplied NS-query-pat parameter, allowing paths to escape the intended search scope.
