CVE-2003-0143 is an improper null-termination vulnerability in Qpopper 4.0.x before 4.0.5fc2. The pop_msg function does not append a null terminator to a message buffer after calling Qvsnprintf. A subsequent operation can therefore process data beyond the intended buffer boundary. An authenticated user can trigger a buffer overflow by supplying an excessively long macro name through the mdef command.
