The uvadmsh utility in IBM U2 UniVerse 10.0.0.9 and earlier versions fails to properly validate the user-supplied path provided via the -uv.install command line option. This allows a local attacker to specify an arbitrary path to a malicious uv.install program under their control, which is then executed with elevated privileges, leading to privilege escalation.
