An untrusted search path vulnerability exists in Qualcomm qpopper versions 4.0 through 4.05. The application relies on the PATH environment variable to locate the 'smbpasswd' program. A local attacker can manipulate the PATH variable to point to a directory containing a malicious 'smbpasswd' executable, which will then be executed with the privileges of the qpopper process.
