CVE-2004-1137 describes multiple vulnerabilities in the IGMP implementation of the Linux kernel versions 2.4.22 to 2.4.28 and 2.6.x up to 2.6.9. The first issue is in the ip_mc_source function, where a counter can be decremented to -1, potentially leading to memory corruption. The second issue is in the igmp_marksources function, which fails to properly validate IGMP message parameters, resulting in an out-of-bounds read. Both vulnerabilities can be triggered by local or remote attackers, depending on the attack vector.
