A race condition exists in Ce/Ceterm (also known as ARPUS/Ce) version 2.5.4 and earlier, where the ce_edit_log temporary file is created insecurely. Local users can exploit this by creating a symbolic link (symlink) from ce_edit_log to an arbitrary file, causing the application to write to files outside its intended scope.
