CVE-2006-1900 describes multiple buffer overflow vulnerabilities in W3C Amaya versions 9.4 and possibly earlier versions (including 8.x before 8.8.5). The vulnerabilities are triggered by overly long values in certain HTML element attributes, specifically the COMPACT attribute of the COLGROUP element, the ROWS attribute of the TEXTAREA element, and the COLOR attribute of the LEGEND element. Additional unspecified vectors exist, with dozens of possible exploit snippets. These flaws allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary code by enticing a user to open a maliciously crafted HTML document.
