CVE-2006-2374 is a deadlock vulnerability in the Microsoft Windows SMB driver, MRXSMB.SYS. On Windows 2000 SP4, Windows XP SP1 and SP2, and Windows Server 2003 SP1 and earlier, a local user can invoke MrxSmbCscIoctlCloseForCopyChunk with a shadow-device file handle. This causes a driver deadlock and hangs the affected system.
