A vulnerability in client/cl_parse.c of id3 Quake 3 Engine 1.32c and Icculus Quake 3 Engine (ioquake3) revision 810 and earlier allows a remote malicious server to overwrite arbitrary write-protected cvars on the client. This is achieved by sending a crafted string of cvar names and values from the server to the client, enabling the server to modify client-side configuration variables such as cl_allowdownload and fs_homepath.
