The ICQPhone.SipxPhoneManager ActiveX control in America Online ICQ 5.1 exposes a DownloadAgent function that can be invoked remotely, allowing attackers to download and execute arbitrary code on the victim's system. This can be triggered, for example, by embedding malicious content such as a crafted ICQ avatar.

This repository contains a single Metasploit module targeting a vulnerability (CVE-2006-5650) in the America Online ICQ ActiveX control (ICQPhone.SipxPhoneManager). The exploit is weaponized and leverages the DownloadAgent method of the vulnerable ActiveX control to download and execute arbitrary files on a victim's Windows system. The module sets up a malicious HTTP server that serves a crafted HTML page with embedded JavaScript. When a victim visits the page using a vulnerable browser (typically Internet Explorer with the vulnerable ActiveX control installed), the script instantiates the control and calls its DownloadAgent method, instructing it to download and execute a payload (a Windows executable) from the attacker's server. The payload is generated by Metasploit and can be any supported Windows payload, such as a reverse shell or Meterpreter. The module is highly configurable and part of the Metasploit framework, making it easy to customize the payload and server settings. The main attack vectors are browser-based exploitation and network delivery of the payload. The only fingerprintable endpoints are the HTTP server path used to deliver the payload and the ProgID of the vulnerable ActiveX control.
