Lynx versions prior to 2.8.6rel.4 are vulnerable to an untrusted search path issue where the application loads configuration files (.mailcap and mime.types) from the current working directory. A local attacker can place malicious versions of these files in a directory and trick a user into running Lynx from that location, resulting in the execution of arbitrary code with the user's privileges.
