The DataCollector service in EIQ Networks Network Security Analyzer is vulnerable to a NULL pointer dereference when it receives certain crafted strings (such as &CONNECTSERVER&, &ADDENTRY&, &FIN&, &START&, &LOGPATH&, &FWADELTA&, &FWALOG&, &SETSYNCHRONOUS&, &SETPRGFILE&, or &SETREPLYPORT&) on TCP port 10618. This allows a remote attacker to crash the service by sending one of these strings, resulting in a denial of service condition.
