CVE-2007-1071 is an integer overflow vulnerability in the gifGetBandProc function within Apple’s ImageIO framework on Mac OS X 10.4.8. A maliciously crafted GIF can trigger an integer overflow during GIF decompression/processing, leading to a segmentation fault (denial of service) and potentially enabling arbitrary code execution in the context of the application invoking ImageIO to parse the image. This issue is distinct from CVE-2006-3502 and CVE-2006-3503.
