CVE-2007-1403 describes multiple stack-based buffer overflows in the SwDir.dll ActiveX control (version 10.1.4.20) used by Macromedia Shockwave. The vulnerabilities are triggered by supplying overly long values to several properties (BGCOLOR, SRC, AutoStart, Sound, DrawLogo, DrawProgress) of the control, leading to a stack overflow condition. This can be exploited remotely via Internet Explorer 7, potentially allowing for arbitrary code execution or causing a denial of service (browser crash). These vectors are distinct from those in CVE-2006-6885.
