CVE-2007-1860 is an access-control bypass and directory-traversal issue in the Apache HTTP Server mod_jk component of Apache Tomcat JK Web Server Connector versions 1.2.0 through 1.2.22. mod_jk decodes a request URL before forwarding it to Tomcat, which performs another decoding pass. This inconsistent, iterative URL canonicalization permits crafted mounted-path prefixes, potentially containing double-encoded dot-dot traversal sequences, to be interpreted differently by httpd and Tomcat. A request accepted under one JkMount mapping can consequently reach a different Tomcat application or protected page.
