CVE-2007-2239 is a stack-based buffer overflow in the SaveBMP method of the AXIS Camera Control (aka CamImage) ActiveX control (AxisCamControl.ocx) prior to version 2.40.0.0. The SaveBMP method fails to properly bound-check a caller-supplied argument, allowing an attacker to supply an overly long parameter that overflows a stack buffer. Successful exploitation can crash Internet Explorer (denial of service) or enable execution of arbitrary code in the context of the user running the browser when they load attacker-controlled HTML that instantiates and invokes the vulnerable ActiveX control.
