CVE-2007-3336 is a critical remote unauthenticated pointer overwrite vulnerability in the Ingres Communications Server Process (iigcc) of Ingres database server 2006 9.0.4 and prior, as well as multiple CA products embedding Ingres. The flaw resides in the handling of TCP data by the iigcc process on port 21064, specifically in the QUinsert and QUremove functions, which can be called with attacker-controlled input. By sending specially crafted data in rapid succession, a remote attacker can overwrite pointers and execute arbitrary code on the server prior to authentication.
