TippingPoint Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) versions prior to 20070710 fail to correctly process hex-encoded alternate Unicode '/' (slash) characters in network traffic. This flaw allows attackers to craft requests using these encoded slashes, such that the IPS does not recognize or properly inspect the traffic, potentially allowing malicious payloads (such as those targeting cmd.exe) to bypass detection.
