A stack-based buffer overflow exists in the EAI WebViewer3D ActiveX control (webviewer3d.dll) used by SAP AG SAPgui versions prior to 7.10 Patch Level 9. The vulnerability is triggered by passing an excessively long argument to the SaveViewToSessionFile method, allowing an attacker to overwrite stack memory and potentially execute arbitrary code.

This repository contains a single Metasploit module (sapgui_saveviewtosessionfile.rb) that exploits a stack buffer overflow vulnerability (CVE-2007-4475) in the EAI WebViewer3D ActiveX control, which is bundled with SAPgui. The exploit is delivered via a malicious HTML page served by the attacker's HTTP server. When a victim using a vulnerable version of Internet Explorer on Windows XP or Vista visits the page, JavaScript code instantiates the vulnerable ActiveX control (identified by CLSID AFBBE070-7340-11D2-AA6B-00E02924C34E) and triggers the SaveViewToSessionFile() method with a specially crafted, overly long string. This results in arbitrary code execution (shellcode) on the victim's machine. The module is operational and allows for customizable payloads, but is not weaponized for mass exploitation. The repository is structured as a typical Metasploit exploit module, with all logic contained in a single Ruby file.
