CVE-2007-4816 is a set of multiple buffer overflow vulnerabilities in the BaoFeng2 storm ActiveX control implemented in Mps.dll. The vulnerable control fails to properly bound-check overly long input supplied through several exposed properties and methods, including long values for the URL, backImage, and titleImage properties; an overly long first argument to the advancedOpen method; overly long arguments to the isDVDPath and rawParse methods; and a crafted .smpl file containing an item element with an excessively long path attribute in a PlayList. A remote attacker can trigger the overflows by causing the ActiveX control to process attacker-controlled input, likely via malicious web content or a crafted playlist file.
