A buffer overflow vulnerability exists in Macrovision SafeDisc secdrv.sys driver versions prior to 4.3.86.0, as distributed with various Microsoft Windows operating systems (XP SP2, XP Professional x64 and x64 SP2, Server 2003 SP1/SP2, and Server 2003 x64/x64 SP2). The vulnerability is due to improper handling of user-supplied input to a METHOD_NEITHER IOCTL, allowing local attackers to overwrite arbitrary memory locations in kernel space.
