CVE-2007-6015 is a stack-based buffer overflow in the send_mailslot function in nmbd, the NetBIOS name server component of Samba. It affects Samba 3.0.0 through 3.0.27a when the "domain logons" option is enabled. The flaw can be triggered by sending a crafted SAMLOGON logon request containing an offset username followed by an overly long GETDC string in a GETDC mailslot request. Successful exploitation allows a remote attacker to overwrite stack memory and execute arbitrary code in the context of the Samba service.
