CVE-2008-3076 is a command injection vulnerability in the Netrw plugin (version 125) of netrw.vim in Vim 7.2a.10. The vulnerability arises because the plugin's mz and mc commands pass filenames containing shell metacharacters to the execute and system functions without proper sanitization. This allows user-assisted attackers to execute arbitrary shell commands if a user opens or interacts with a maliciously crafted filename. The issue is a result of an incomplete fix for CVE-2008-2712.
