CVE-2008-3195 is a directory traversal vulnerability in TWiki’s installation/configuration script (bin/configure) affecting TWiki versions prior to 4.2.3. In deployments where a hardening step in the installation guide is skipped, a remote attacker can supply a crafted query string containing ".." (dot-dot) in the "image" variable to traverse directories and read arbitrary files. The issue is also described as enabling execution of arbitrary files/commands via additional (unspecified) vectors involving insecure access to the configuration script.
