DjVu ActiveX Control 3.0 for Microsoft Office contains a buffer overflow in DjVu_ActiveX_MSOffice.dll. A remote attacker can exploit the flaw by supplying an overly long ImageURL property; the Mode, Page, and Zoom properties may also be affected. Successful exploitation allows arbitrary code execution.

This repository contains a single Metasploit module (modules/exploits/windows/fileformat/djvu_imageurl.rb) that exploits a stack buffer overflow vulnerability in the DjVu_ActiveX_MSOffice.dll (version 3.0) ActiveX control (CVE-2008-4922). The exploit generates a malicious HTML file (default name: msf.html) that, when opened in a vulnerable version of Internet Explorer on Windows XP or Vista with the vulnerable ActiveX control installed, triggers the overflow via the ImageURL property. The module allows the attacker to execute arbitrary shellcode on the target system. The attack vector is browser-based, requiring the victim to open the crafted HTML file. The main fingerprintable endpoint is the CLSID of the vulnerable ActiveX control (clsid:4A46B8CD-F7BD-11D4-B1D8-000102290E7C). The exploit is operational, leveraging Metasploit's payload system to deliver arbitrary code.
